EARLY EDUCATION IN A HOME-BASED SETTING
Here at Happy Days we take pride in providing a high quality early education service for children aged 6m - 5yrs. I can also provide a before and after school play service for children attending Broadwater C of E First and Middle School if they have younger siblings attending here during the day. I can care for six children under 8yrs and this is increased to ten children when my apprentice is here. I cannot drop-off or collect children from any other schools.
We are open for 47 weeks per year between the hours of 8am - 6pm. This means you can choose which hours you would like your child to attend within these times to make arrangements that are convenient for you.
The term after your child's third birthday they are eligible for government funded childcare of up to 15 hours per week. This means your child could have up to fifteen hours COMPLETELY FREE at Happy Days per week. Any additional hours are charged at £4.00 each.
For all children I keep an EYFS folder (Early Years Foundation Stage). This shows progress in the six areas of learning through observation, assessment and planning. Daily observations are recorded on each child's individual password protected page found on our 'Family Pages'. To see a sample page, please click here. For more information about the EYFS, please see my policies and procedures.
I have been a registered Childminder for almost five years and previously worked as a teaching assistant in an early years setting. I am a fun and happy person who enjoys taking children out, all sorts of arts and crafts and letting children explore without interfering!
I take influence from various approaches to children's learning, including that of the Italian town of Reggio-Emilia. I have also learnt from Reflections Day Nursery who provide an outstanding service both in their nursery and as a Forest School. For more information about the Reggio-Emilia approach or about Forest School, please see the 'more info' page.
I have a portfolio in place which contains policies and procedures, training and professional development progress certificates and all the information you will need to decide whether I would be the right person to care for your child.
I have completed my level 3 Diploma in Home Based Childcare, gaining an A grade in each unit. I also have the Certificate in Early Years Practice (level 4) for which I gained a distinction. I attend training courses regularly, always keep up to date with current legislation and I am currently studying for a degree in Early Years.
I welcome any enquiries.
